Dressing up gadgets

October 31, 2006

ipod accessories take dressing up gadgets to whole new levels.
Check out my google reader share page where I’ve shared some of the zany ipod add ons that I got from just a couple of gadget blogs.

Apparently, the ipod accessory market is about $300 million. Which is smaller than, say, the porn industry but way bigger than the market for frog spawn.

My ipod is naked and uncovered and does not have killer speakers to go with it. I’m sure it will kill me and run away to the home for underprivileged ipods.

More fluff

Watch this video on Gia’s blog.

The frog must have commissioned the kids to do it.

He does not look like Eminem

October 26, 2006

Mike Scofield looks like Elijah wood. I made a composite of the two.

Mike Scofield and Elijah Woods

I’ve marked the similarities :

Black: The width of the face is the same.
Red: The side structure is the *same*. That’s why every time they show Mike from the right he looked like Frodo.
Green: The ears stick out the same way too.

Eminem’s face is too narrow to look like Mike’s. And he has a very noticeable chin cleft.

Prison break marathon

October 23, 2006

15 hours of Prison Break. That’s what I did this weekend.

Finished with the first season. Arjun being the celluloid nut he is, already got hold of the second. And being the Information Junkie that I am, I wikipedia’d Prison Break.

  1. The guy in the mask in Mariah Carey’s “It’s Like That” video is Wentworth Miller (Michael Scofield). There! I knew I’d seen him somewhere before.
  2. Prison break was filmed on location at Joliet Prison, Illinois. Lincoln’s cell is the same one that John Wayne Gacy was incarcerated in.
  3. John Wayne Gacy was convicted and later executed for the rape and murder of 33 boys and young men.
  4. Digressing a little, read this blog article “Children exposed to nudes”. It’s about a teacher being kicked out of her job because she took her students to a museum which had a naked statue. I get very angry too when people have stupid moral double standards.

  5. Since “Prison Break” reminded me a lot of “Shawshank Redemption”, I wikipedia’d that hoping there was a connection. Couldn’t find any. But did find out that “Shawshank Redemption” is based on a book by Stephen King called “Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption”. No wonder there were so many references to Rita Hayworth in the movie.
  6. I recommend this blog [jayspace] for amazing Classic Hollywood and Rita Hayworth trivia.

  7. Michael Scofield is of a very very mixed heritage and he looks like Elijah Wood’s brother from some angles. Please tell if you think so too.

Just like Voltage, iGlow does not rely on UV, neon or black lights to create glow. Instead, it produces its own light!
Tiny, microscopic particles in the gel come together in the mixing process to produce a bright colorful glow that can be
seen in partial light and in the dark for several hours.

While iGlow is classified as a “temporary hair color” it does not actually color the hair cuticle. It “coats” the hair
with color. The gel is the delivery medium for the luminescence (glow).

Cleaning out my phone’s MMC. I use my phone camera impulsively, so when I spring clean the memory card, I get interesting pictures I’d forgotten about.

Very fond of this one. It’s a couple of years old. We were waiting at the bus stop and I clicked. He was suitably annoyed, but the picture was worth that.

This is me looking like the women Puzo writes about, strong Italian women who are structured specifically for childbirth. You know, the mafiosa wives.

Boss Brand Lighter

Among the tchotchke that my mum got from Delhi. Notice the couple staring adoringly at the space age lighter. Rather, the Electronic Lighter + Torch.

Mehendi at every street corner. One of the few things I liked about Delhi. Though, after it fades in a few days, mehendi looks more like someone’s scribbled all over.

My sister took the picture at CCD. I like it because the cup looks very porcelain. And I like tea. And the picture is strangely hypnotic.

Camouflage dog.

Blistering Barnacles!

October 16, 2006

I am so finicky it’s not even funny. It’s bad enough that I need to have every pixel on my blog in order before I actually write a post, and to top that my links are not getting marked properly.

I’m so annoyed. So annoyed. So annoyed. It’s all I can do from deleting this blog.

Please somebody, what could the matter be?

Socket Tutorial

Great tutorial to get started on TCP socket programming.

I Discovered MJ

October 4, 2006

A VH1 feature called “Michael Jackson’s Secret Childhood” made me look for any MJ songs I might have.

And I found in one dirty, musty corner of my hard disk an entire album of Jackson 5 Motown hits. And OMG, have you heard MJ when he was eleven? Such a lovely, soul wrenching voice he has.

MJ, eleven. On YouTube.

I’m a fan. No matter how twisted he is supposed to be. I love his voice to bits.

If you’re interested the transcripts of the VH1 show is available here.

Art (Not!)

Squash a bug with a shoe. Then exhibit shoe. Upside down.

Tag it with a “representation of the complex and many layered human behaviour and the vacuity of life according to Freudian philosophy” placard.

People will flock to eet, I say! You will be famous, you with the deepest understanding of human soul, you!

Until some kid yells that it’s just a bug squashed with a shoe. Until then you will be the like the emperor person with the new clothes.

I don’t care if the cinematography is perfect. You *convey* *nothing* with exquisite shots placed randomly together. Die you!
